March 10/17- Men On The Mat With Richard Wilkinson 

A two class series for men, learn the basics and go beyond. 

Yoga is not just a woman's thing. For most men it is a welcome and in many cases necessary complement to maintaining our fitness and peace of mind. Especially through injuries and middle age. Join some brothers in learning how this works in a comfortable easeful space.

April 20th—Yin Training with Stephanie Staniforth

Level 1 Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Stephanie Staniforth - In this 30 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training, you will discover stillness through the doorway of Yin yoga and mindfulness meditation.

Structured around the Buddha’s four foundations of mindfulness, this course will offer a deep understanding of mindfulness principals you can use on and off your mat. This training will focus on developing a consistent home practice that you can authentically share with others, and the tools you need to cue students through long-held poses. 

This training is eligible for 30 hours of continuing education credits recognized by Yoga Alliance.

Overview of the Course:

-Breathing in Yin Yoga

-Chi flow- what it is and how to stimulate it

-Physical and energetic “target areas”

-Osteokinematics (how joints move) and variations due to skeletal variation

-Skillful prop usage

-Sequencing a Yin class

-How to structure a “Yin/Yang” class sequence

-Developing a home practice

-Mindfulness Meditation (first 3 foundations)
